Evans Pharmacy has moved to Charles Street, next door to Ruddington Library. The village pharmacy can now be found in new, purpose-built premises on the side of Dairy Cottage.
The relocated Ruddington shop offers better accessibility for all, including a wheelchair ramp. It is now closer to the two GP surgeries and to the car parks within our village. There is also a large, purpose built, soundproof, consultation room with hand wash facilities.
The move to bigger premises came about as a result of the increased number of services that pharmacies now offer. In the past chemists only dispensed prescriptions and sold over-the-counter medicines. Pharmacies still do those things but, in addition, they offer a wide range of extended services.
Did you know that Evans Pharmacy in Ruddington offers a comprehensive travel clinic, including medicines to prevent malaria and travel vaccines? You can also get other vaccinations, including chicken pox, shingles, human papilloma virus and influenza.
Pharmacies can give more advice than ever before on minor ailments. When Evans’ pharmacists consider it necessary they can examine ears and throats. They may also, depending on your condition, be able to organise you a private prescription.
Increasingly pharmacies are offering a greater number of consultations. A pharmacist may have asked to talk to you about your regular medication or about new medicines.
So, next time you are passing our new Evans Pharmacy, why not pop in and take a look around? You can also ‘phone on 0115 921 1086 or email ruddington@daleacrehealthcare.co.uk.
